We are again offering Mountain Bikepacking trips in Alberta for the 2023 season, which we are pretty excited about! Our Mountain Bikepacking trips are suitable for Strong Beginner, Intermediate to Strong Intermediate/Advanced Mountain Bikers. This season we’ll be offering weekend trips, as well as multi-day Mountain Bikepacking adventures within the Canmore, Kananaskis and the Bragg Creek area. Having a good base level of fitness is important for our trips, as some of them cover longer distances. Our weekend offerings are generally shorter in nature and less technical.

Our trips involve camping at designated backcountry campgrounds (that have firepits and outhouses), as well as backcountry camping in remote settings on public land with no outhouses, although we will be able to build a fire. All of our trips are catered, with Breakfasts and Dinners provided by the amazing folks at PeakEats. They have menu options available for those who have dietary restrictions including gluten free, vegan and vegetarian offerings. Get in touch with us if you have any dietary requirements and we’ll ensure this is all sorted for you prior to departure.

Our Mountain Bikepacking guides have significant backcountry experience. They are also good cooks and fire starters, so you’ll be well taken care of on all of our trips. Plus, our guides are just all around good individuals will lots of great stories and jokes to tell. Our trips for the 2022 season will operate on a 5 to 1 guest to guide ratio. We practice social distancing on and off the bike. Luckily a bike length is about 2 metres so this makes things easy when we are riding.

Participants on Flow’s Mountain Bikepacking trips will be provided with a comprehensive gear list prior to departure, as well as a video on bikepacking gear. If you need to rent gear, we can help you source things locally. You also don’t need to buy Bikepacking bags for our trips, as it’s possible to do shorter adventures by attaching a dry bag to your handlebars. This is suitable for our weekend trips so you can see if you like Mountain Bikepacking prior to investing in all of gear. But if you want to invest in Bikepacking bags, one of our awesome partners is offering a discount to Flow particpiants. Please get in touch with us at info@flowbikeadventures.com if you have any questions about what gear is required for our Mountain Bikepacking trips.

We have some capacity to create custom, private mountain bikepacking trips this season as well, so if you have a special occasion or event coming up and are looking for a unique way to celebrate it with your friends or family then this could be it. We’re also happy to work with corporate clients, as our trips would be an amazing way to reconnect for those who have been working remotely.
